Senior teacher and director, Rachel Hull, has taught on over 15 teacher trainings between Australia, Indonesia, China, Malaysia and India. She has been practicing for 22 years, teaching for 11 and is registered with Yoga Alliance at the highest level E-RYT500. Rachel has put together a team of experienced and professional teachers, to offer you the best possible training. She worked for many years on Yoga Arts and Solomon Yogalates Trainings, as well as set up Yoga Alliance registered trainings in Shanghai, China. The Shakti Spirit trainings have been running in their current format since early 2007. We currently offer Level 1 trainings in Bali, Goa and China. We are registered with Yoga Alliance to run trainings at both the 200 and 500 hour levels, although are currently running Level 1 trainings, which are registered at the 200 hour level. LEVEL 1 TRAININGS: The Level 1 trainings are registered with Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level, although the actual number of hours on our courses is more than this. For more information on the Bali Level 1 training, 2009: click here. The Bali Level 1 training runs over 6 weeks and totals approximately 230 hours. The training is held in Ubud, Bali, at Melati Cottages, in a lovely wooden floored studio that is set amongst rice fields. Bali, being a Hindu island, is a perfect place to attend a Yoga training. It is suggested that students stay 'in-house' at Melati Cottages, although it is possible to arrange other accommodation. For more information on the Goa Level 1 training, 2010: click here. The Goa Level 1 training runs over 6 weeks, in February-March each year, and totals approximately 230 hours. The training is fully residential and is held at the very lovely Satsanga Retreat Centre, in Parra, Goa. AIM OF LEVEL 1 TRAINING: The aim of our Level 1 training, is to learn to become a great assistant teacher, and an intelligent teacher to beginning and beginning/intermediate students. Teaching beginners is more challenging than people realise, and takes a lot of skill, as well as a good eye to know what to look for. In this course you will receive instruction in movement related anatomy and physiology, Yogic philosophy, asana - including static postures where we focus on alignment, as well as Vinyasa Flow sequences, adjusting skills, the use of props, and teaching and sequencing skills. Education in Ayurvedic philosophy as well as practical Ayurveda is always a feature of our trainings.
