She has been practicing for 23 years, teaching for 13 and is registered with Yoga Alliance at the highest level E-RYT500. Rachel has put together a team of experienced and professional teachers, to offer you the best possible training. She worked for many years on Yoga Arts and Solomon Yogalates Trainings, as well as set up Yoga Alliance registered trainings in Shanghai, China.  The Shakti Spirit trainings have been running in their current format in Goa, India and now Bali since early 2007.

We currently offer Level 1 trainings in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. We are registered with Yoga Alliance to run trainings at both the 200 and 500 hour levels, although are currently running Level 1 trainings, which are registered at the 200 hour level.

LEVEL 1 TRAININGS:

The Level 1 trainings are registered with Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level, although the actual number of hours on our courses is more than this.

The 2010 training on 5 Sept -17 Oct, 2010 is fully booked and we are no longer accepting applications.

The 2011 dates are 12 Sept - 23 Oct, 2011 (orientation is on the 11th).

The Bali Level 1 training runs over 6 weeks and totals approximately 230 hours. The training is held in Ubud, Bali, at a venue called Santra Putra. Santra Putra is the home of a well known Balinese Artist, Wayan Karja, and is set amongst green rice fields and nature. Bali, being a Hindu island and well aquainted with Yoga, is a perfect place to attend a training. It is intended that students stay 'in-house' at Santra Putra or in one of their nearby bungalows. Breakfast is included in the accommodation price, and we will share a once per week Ayurvedic dinner together. All rooms have fans, private bathrooms and kitchen/cooking facilities. Other meals are available within a couple of minutes walk, at local warungs (delicious local restaurants), or more upmarket restaurants in town (5 minutes taxi ride away).

There is a lot more information written about this training on the website. You can access more specific details if you click here.

AIM OF LEVEL 1 TRAINING:

The aim of our Level 1 training, is to learn to become an intelligent teacher to beginner and intermediate students, as well as a great assistant teacher. Teaching beginners is more challenging than people realise, and takes a lot of skill, as well as a good eye to know what to look for. In this course you will receive instruction in

movement related anatomy and physiology, Yogic philosophy, asana - including static postures where we focus on alignment, as well as Vinyasa Flow sequences, adjusting skills, the use of props, and teaching and sequencing skills. Education in Ayurvedic philosophy as well as practical Ayurveda is always a feature of our trainings.
