Yoga Teachers Inspiration Intensive Retreat in BaliAugust 3 - 13, 2011Rachel Hull & Kathryn RidingThis Yoga intensive is an offering of inspiration to existing Yoga teachers, and to more experienced Yoga practitioners who are wishing to gain fresh insights, to enhance their communication skills, to increase confidence and creativity, and to revitalize their practice and/or teaching skills. This Intensive Retreat will be guided by two very experienced and devoted Yoga teachers - Rachel Hull (E-RYT500) and Kathryn Riding. What You Can Expect On This Intensive Retreat: Daily morning asana, pranayama & meditation classes; sequencing skills and ideas; adjustment skill classes - reminders of ways to adjust certain postures and looking at the ways different people adjust postures and why; reviewing prop usage; voice skills; Yoga therapy - looking in more depth at a few conditions such as scoliosis, hernia etc; authentic movement & improvisation classes; ideas and group discussions on how to keep the classes and practice fresh and interesting. Although we will practice asana intensely at times, our approach is to practice and teach well in an inspiring way that honours our differences, rather than going at things in a super intense and extreme way. We will also provide the opportunity for honest discussion about the situations that can arise as Yoga teachers. The Teachers: Rachel will share her skills in leading asana and pranayama classes, tips on sequencing, alignment and adjustments, Ayurveda as it applies to the Yoga class, as well as ideas on how to keep the inspiration alive. Kathryn Riding is a much loved yoga teacher who has been practising yoga for more than 30 years. She trained with Eve Grzbowski and Mardi Kendall at the Sydney Yoga Centre where she also taught. The approach was eclectic and very nurturing, with Iyengar influences. Kathryn also comes from a performing arts background, is a poet and the author of two books. She is a WAAPA graduate, has trained in movement and voice with Pan Theatre in Paris, and taught at NIDA for 6 years. She will be sharing her unique style of yoga, which combines both classical and contemporary wisdom, plus offering authentic movement and vocal exploration classes that will support your communication skills and spontaneity. We have designed this Intensive Retreat specifically for Yoga Teachers and/or more experienced practitioners. By 'more experienced practitioners' we do not mean to imply that you need to be able to wrap your leg around your head or be able to contort yourself. Rather, the Retreat is designed for Yoga students and Teachers, where Yoga is already an established part of their lives, who feel they could use some re-inspiration and time out with like minded others.
